Volunteer: Chalk It Up - First AidChalk It Up is a free art, music, and food festival in Midtown Sacramento where artists draw incredible art on sidewalk squares around Fremont Park. Each year, the SMRC provides first aid/emergency preparedness outreach and cooling at this popular and fun 3 day event. Medical and non-medical volunteers are welcome. Join us for a shift or two! Uniform is SMRC black t-shirt or blue polo and black pants or black long cargo/bermuda/dress shorts - no workout clothes or cut offs. If you have not earned a SMRC uniform yet, please wear a plain black shirt. If you have worked 3 events and need a uniform, let me know if you would like a black t-shirt (unisex sizes) or a blue polo shirt (men's and ladies sizes) and the size you need. The first shift of each day will unload equipment and supplies and set up our med tent. The last shifts of each day will break down our med tent and load out our equipment and supplies. FREE BIKE VALET: Free Bike Valet Parking by the Sacramento Area Bicycle Advocates. Come park your bike for free at the festival (but be sure to tip your valet). PARKING: The S+P Parking Lot, located at 15th & R Streets, is just one block away and parking may be reimbursed by the SMRC Foundation upon request. You can try to find street parking in the neighborhood, but be sure to read the parking signs carefully, as the City of Sacramento’s Parking Enforcement is vigilant. All the parking spaces along the outside of the park are restricted for the weekend. This is a very busy event so you may also consider getting dropped off and picked up if that is an option.
